Should I spend my winter break writing a What’s Your Number Destiel AU? I mean. That’s not something the world needs, right? And it would probably require me to bend the boys so far out of character that it wouldn’t even - I mean, who would want that, right? Right? Right.

I am actually creating charts to try to figure out who would be who what is happening someone help

if you mean “help organize these charts” i am your dude. i’m all for these bad decisions please continue to make them. also enjoy your break

Haha well I think at this point the charts actually helped (what is this fanfic), but now I’m left at the unenviable stage of story development where I have a beginning and end but no middle. Middles are the worst. >=(

(2/2) also! quick, random question - i've just finished my 4th (5th maybe??) reread of For Science! (which is such a gem!!), and i was wondering about two of the background characters/subjects in the study - at one point there is an alpha/alpha pair by the names of Steve and James, one with the surname Barnes; is this a very sneaky Stucky reference that i've missed until now?!! and what other secrets are hidden in this story??!! lol sorry about the inane question, but i'd love to know <3

That is definitely stucky, hahah! I don’t ship them personally, but I have enough friends that do at this point that I almost feel like a… a shipper-in-law. A shipper by association. An honorary stucky fan. (And honestly, who else are you going to ship in the MCU? Steve/Sharon? Yuck.)

As for other hidden references, I don’t think there’s anything quite that pointed, but:

- I’m pretty sure the mechanical dildo in Masters of Sex is also called Ulysses (and if not, it means I have no idea where I got this name from)

- the fleshlight Cas makes is based on the tenga sleeve (which I highly recommend)

- early on, someone mentions Unpresented folk - referencing my own work, natch.

unpresented dvd commentary: heatsex, hate sex

Let’s get to it.

Man, I’d give anything to know what’s going on in Dean’s head in this story. Is Dean the one being uncommunicative, unreasonable, and dense here? Is it Cas? Is it some mixture of both?

I really don’t understand Dean’s problem

I’m fascinated by how angry commenters have been with Dean. I don’t know what to make of it.

Why is Dean being such a god damn dick?

unpresented dvd commentary: unreliable narrator edition

Hey all! As I mentioned last week, I’m doing that  'DVD commentary meme’ for the Unpresented series (though, as always, I’m happy to hear your thoughts on any of my fics). Usually the commentary meme functions as a sort of celebration of fanfic - a chance for the author to revisit sections of the work with fans, meta commentary on a genre that’s already pretty meta. With Unpresented, though, I feel like this series is something between a… a confessional, a diary, and a reader’s guide. It’s pretty clear that not everyone saw in the fic what I did, so I’m using some of the comments I got on it as a jumping off point to discuss those divergences, my writing process, my deep dark fannish secrets, and hopefully make the fic more enjoyable for those who left it… scratching their heads.

Here’s a comment I didn’t get all that often, but that I’m guessing plenty of readers agreed with, and that I think touched on something really important to how I wrote the fic:

Dean is a horrible person, and I want Cas to end up with pretty much anyone but him in this point. Given that Cas can smell emotions on Dean, he would know if Dean was lying or torn but Dean just is totally heartless.

the only time Dean smelled upset was when Sammy got sick, so clearly he hasn’t been angsting over his poor treatment of Cas.

unpresented dvd commentary: the heat

Hey all! So I know there were a lot of things from Star Power, part 3 of the Unpresented series, that… really confused everyone, haha. I invited y’all to do a DVD commentary meme with me, and some of the comments on the fic seemed apropos for that, so I’m going to use them to launch into some discussions of the fic that, hopefully, fill in some of the blanks and help folks enjoy it more.

Here’s the first comment:

Man, I’m still hella curious about how dean was able to ignore Castle during that last heat
